Hello Gunter,
I have enjoyed looking at your web site very much. It is very well done and you have obviously put a great deal of time and effort into it. Thank you !
I have been trying to find out any information I can about my father’s service during WWII. I know he served with the 495th Air Ser Sq 32nd Air Gp and was stationed in England. He was there from Jan 44 till Sept 45. Under battles and campaigns it says GO 33 & 40 WD 45 Normandy Northern France Rhineland Central Europe.
Citations it says Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Plaque, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. When I talked to the people at Veterans records the gentleman told me to try to find out more about the Meritorious Unit Plaque because he had only seen that award once in 20 years. I have not been able to find out anything about it or what it was awarded for. Are you familiar with it ?
Do you know anything about this unit ?
Unfortunately my father passed away and never really talked about his experiences like many vets. Anything you might know would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Terry
PS : I will look around to see if I may have any military collectibles for you !
Thank Terry
Please make photos of the items and send them to gunter@eucmh.com.
